Designing a reliable propulsion system is never just about choosing a motor and an ESC. Real performance depends on how every component behaves under load, how efficiently it converts power into thrust and how stable it remains during long operation. The difference between a good setup and a failing one is almost always found in the details that do not appear in datasheets.

This is why Componentas invests in testing. And why we offer testing as a service for developers.

Real data for real missions

Our propulsion testing is built around the Flight Stand 500, a professional thrust stand capable of measuring and analysing all key parameters of an electric drive system. It allows us to evaluate motors, ESCs and complete propulsion setups in conditions that represent real flight and real mechanical load.

On each test we capture:

  • thrust

  • torque

  • RPM

  • current

  • voltage

  • temperature

  • propeller efficiency

  • motor efficiency

These measurements reveal how the setup behaves during acceleration, during continuous load, during thermal saturation and during long endurance profiles. They also show the true interaction between motor and ESC, something that cannot be predicted only by reading specifications.

Why developers use our testing

Choosing the right components is easier when every part has verified behaviour.

Developers come to us because they want:

  • stable performance under load

  • safe thermal margins

  • correct torque for their propeller or wheel

  • full compatibility between motor and ESC

  • data they can rely on during design reviews

  • reduced integration time and reduced risk

Instead of relying on assumptions or trial and error, they work with results that are measured, comparable and repeatable.

From requirements to a complete setup

If you share your project requirements with us, our engineering team prepares a full propulsion configuration and validates it on the stand. We test the system in different load profiles, verify the mechanical and electrical behaviour and adjust parameters if needed.

You receive:

  • the recommended motor, ESC and propeller

  • performance graphs and measurement files

  • thermal evaluation

  • efficiency data

  • a ready-to-use setup that fits your mission

This level of support increases reliability and shortens development cycles, especially for UAV, UGV and robotic platforms.

Why this matters for Europe

European projects need European data.

Most propulsion components on the global market are imported, undocumented or tested only under ideal laboratory conditions. A secure and independent supply chain requires components that are verified, traceable and tested to a standard that reflects real operating environments.

By offering system level testing, Componentas helps developers build platforms that are stable, safe and genuinely competitive with imported solutions.

Want your setup tested!

If you are developing a UAV, UGV or any custom electric platform, we can help you select and validate a propulsion system you can trust.

Send your requirements to strava@componentas.eu, and our team will prepare and test the optimal configuration for your mission.
